The Miracle Of Love

The Miracle Of Love

I believe in miracles
for when each day is new
I see the golden sunrise
catching diamonds in the dew.
I hear the sound of laughter
as happy children play.
I watch the shining rainbow
that bridges skies of gray.
All of these are miracles
and gifts from God above.
But I believe because I've seen
the miracle of love!

Jesus Hugs ~ J M McIntosh

Jesus Hugs

Have you ever had a "Jesus hug",
Do you know what one feels like?
If you've never had a "Jesus hug",
I pray one day you might.
A "Jesus hug" is different,
As far as hugging goes;
It's a little taste of Heaven,
Here on earth below.
Only those who love the Lord,
Can give a "Jesus Hug";
It conveys God's grace and mercy,
And unconditional love.
Those who give out "Jesus hugs"
Always seem to somehow know
Just when you're in need of one
To make your spirit glow.
And if you ever need one
I hope that I will see,
So I can give you a "Jesus hug";
Just like someone did for me.

Remember, I Love You - Joan Clifton Costner

Remember, I Love You
In the storms of life remember,
I Love you....
When you’re suffering, remember,
I’m there too....
When you think you’re all alone,
And you feel you can’t go on ~
Oh, beloved child, remember,
I Love you!
When the sunrise comes, in glory,
I love you...
When the stars fall in surrender,
I love you...
When the dusk is red in splendor,
And the evening breeze is tender,
Oh, my dear beloved, remember,
I love you!
(Bridge)
I can speak in a million ways to any human heart
All you need is that tenderness that sets your soul apart.
I’ve a million ways to tell you if you open up the door
And I’m longing so to always tell you more...
(Key change)
When you hear the music swelling - I love you
Don’t you know?
With each bird call I am telling - I love you...
Yes, love you so!
And when evening shadows fall-
Then I love you most of all -
Precious Child, always remember,
I... Love... you!

Valentine's Day with Jesus _ Marilyn Ferguson

VALENTINE'S DAY WITH JESUS

Valentine's Day with Jesus

Jesus does not send perfume
To linger in the air
Instead He sends salvation, sweet
To show how much He cares.

He doesn’t bring me candy hearts
In boxes of delight
Instead He always lets me know
I’m precious in His sight.

He doesn’t pass out pretty cards
Trimmed in shades of red
Instead He gave His life for me
His precious blood was shed.

He doesn’t hand out fancy gifts
Like we would send to mother
Instead He sends a message clear
To always love each other.

He doesn’t give me teddy bears
That whimper, “Please be mine”
Instead He gave His heart to me
I wear it all the time.

He doesn’t give me roses, pink
For all the world to see
Instead He gave eternal life
That’s good enough for me.

The Little Kitten 1-19-12- louis gander

A tiny little kitten
whose feet were very sore,
wandered through the drifting snow
and right up to my door.
The weak meowing stirred me,
and drew me when she cried.
I crossed my room with aging feet,
inviting her inside.

She shivered and was hungry,
was frightened, very weak.
Confused, she wasn't trusting,
her future somewhat bleak.
Now even though I loved her,
I saw a troubled sign.
I thought about it for a bit -
compared her life to mine...

As she warmed up to me a bit,
I let her eat and rest -
but ran, she did, if I came close -
afraid of me, I guessed.
Now I was like that kitten,
and it became quite clear -
that I was frightened, ran away,
when Jesus got too near.

Then as the days kept rolling by,
she finally did prefer -
to be around and close to me.
She knew that I loved her.
Before I learned that God so loved,
my life was very grim.
And though He loved me very much,
I had no faith in Him.

Knowing that I love her so
and take good care of her -
knowing that I listen when
I hear her prayerful purr -
defines a word called "faithfulness",
defines a true belief -
not wandering out aimlessly
in blowing snow and grief.

So now you'll find her in my lap,
a tiny ball of fuzz -
but she had taught me faithfulness.
I know it's true because -
I once roamed like this kitten,
where snow and drifting harms,
but now I lie in pastures green -
with Jesus, in His arms.

The Heart of a Quilter - Joan Clifton Costner

The Heart of a Quilter

She hurries through dishes and many chores
Just so she can sit down once more -
Not for a rest, but a blessing to be -
A soft quilt to cradle the newest baby.
She has taken much time in the choosing process,
Colors that soothe and you’d like to caress -
Fabric that feels like soft skin to touch -
That’s what the babies enjoy so much.
She wants something happy - and a batting that holds,
Dries quickly and fluffs up right under his nose.
In her secret heart she hopes that he’ll connect
This quilt with his comfort - security check.
For there in the stitches and binding are found
Well wishes and blessings in prayers she has wound
Around all the edges with touches of love
Interceding to God for help from above.
“Bless this life, Father, with health and good will;
A happy heart and service to fill,
All of his days may he whisper to Thee
And, at the last , grant there’ll be Heaven to see!”
When it’s finished the quilter’s heart’s satisfied...

But, she just heard of someone whose just arrived
At the doorway of illness and probably needs
A warm quilt to wrap up around his feet!
...And Jesus, in Your life on our cold old earth -
You’d have liked her quilt at the time of Your birth;
I wish she’d have been there - her comfort to give,
But in these, whom she services, Lord, ...You live!

Touched by Love - lynn foust

Touched by Love

The world can get confusing
With so many ways to go…
And we must start choosing
From what things we "know."
Maps written on our hearts
That always remain there-
Guide us if we "listen"
To Jesus' message fair.
If we can but follow
What's written in His Word,
Practicing compassion
When things may seem absurd…
Then we won't be tempted
To lose our way and stray;
Touched by Love and Mercy
Each and EVERY day!

Color My World ~ Jill Lemming

Color My World

Sometimes we find shades of gray
when grief comes to our lives...
and other times we see the sun
shine golden in our eyes.

It all depends on how we view

the world that God has made...
it takes some effort on our part,
to lose those "shades of gray."

Lord, give me eyes to see my world

in lovely shades of GREEN...
reflecting growth within my heart
and blessings unforseen.

Let me see the color RED

to remind me of Your blood...
and how You died to set me free,
a sacrifice of love.

And when I see the color WHITE,

let me see Your righteousness...
the truest symbol of Your grace
and the purest color yet.

Lord, color my world and let me see

each symbol You have made...
all reflections of Your love,
each one a perfect shade.

A Simple Frame 1-10-12

With Christmas season over,
and presents put away -
with most the decorations packed...
what's wrong with life today?

My dead tree still is standing -
that I have yet to cast -
but cannot help but wonder -
has Christmas spirit passed?

That single, empty, simple frame,
is dead inside and out -
and seems to cloak the truth of what
pure 'Christmas' is about.

Although some evidence remains
with dead tree standing there,
needles scattered on the floor...
there's something in the air.

There's something that I'm missing.
There's something not routine -
and somewhere in this old dead tree -
there's something I've not seen.

Could I derive from hint and clue
if pieced, I could, together -
in my head, I wonder if -
I wonder - wonder whether...

Yes! My tree once held ornaments...
Another held a Man!
And long before mere presents came,
the gift of grace began!

A simple frame against the sky
in perfect silhouette -
a couple thousand years ago -
if we can see it yet...

see, by Jesus' sacrifice -
that all God's grace is free -
if we confess and humbly trust,
our Savior faithfully!

Last Christmas never ended,
as I walk along life's way -
I will forever, always
live Christmas every day!

God's Beautiful Quilt ~ Joan Clifton Costner

God's Beautiful Quilt

I lifted the lid from the box upstairs ~
"This certainly has to go..."
....I shouldn't have taken the lid off~
There’s so many patterns I know.
I had thought I'd piece them together to be
A tapestry of my years ~
A quilt to treasure for myself;
Reminder of joys and tears.
...My fingers passed tenderly over the lot ~
A garment from so long ago,
When I was young and ambitious ~
My hopes were all aglow.
Here’s the paisley from Aunt Eva,
(So pretty in that special dress!)
The plaid from little Jackie’s shirt
Whose now gone to Heaven’s rest.
A houndstooth check, a polka-dot;
A piece from my little boys' blue
(For both had worn those coveralls and
Both had loved them, too)
I laid some of the pieces together ~
Why, they would fit just so!
They had a common color ~
Oh, let that straightening go!
I brought out the iron and the scissors ~
I straightened and cut just right;
I pieced that fabric together
Before I came to night!
The new quilt wasn't really 'new' ~
It wasn't large ~ but, say!
I wouldn't take a million for
The memories of that day!
Might there be a seamstress angel
Sent out to collect loving deeds?
Maybe He lays them together
To judge what else He needs?
...When I reach that land of forever,
I'm gonna look for the quilting frame ~
To search and seek a familiar piece ~
Something that bears my name.
I won't care if it’s in the middle or
Just a strip that is sewn in free,
When God spreads out that beautiful quilt
And explains it’s design to me!
