Golden Streets Of Home

Golden Streets Of Home

My wondering eyes will open wide,
To find I’m evermore alive,
And there’s a golden path stretching out before me.
Pearly gates I see, that swing wide open.
Then, my heart leaps. Words are unspoken,
"Welcome to the Golden Streets of Home!"

My dearest hope of life is true!
My cherished dream is now in view!
I wonder, what is waiting just inside in Glory?
Tears of Love o’er flow in joy unbroken,
As I remember words just spoken,
"Welcome to the Golden Streets of Home!"

Then, they’ll all come to greet me,
Arms outstretched and smiling sweetly.
It’s good to see the Golden Streets of Home!

The mother that I loved so well,
More lovely now than words can tell,
And cherished friends and neighbors that have gone before me,
And, then, Jesus, full of Heaven’s Glory,
Takes my hand and hears my story;
"Welcome to the Golden Streets of Home!"

Yes, they’ll all come to greet me,
Arms outstretched and smiling sweetly.
It’s good to see the Golden Streets of Home!
Oh, it’s so good to touch the Golden Streets of Home!
