Change the Weather

Change the Weather:

Don’t wait for the weather,
To change.
Change the weather,
Around you.

When the heat gets to great,
You bring the breeze.
If where you’re standing is dry,
You bring down the rain.

If it's cold
You bring the heat.
         If the storm is raging,
You calm the storm.

When the winds are to strong,
You shelter those around you.
If it’s raining everywhere you go,
You show off The Son.

Don’t let,
 the world change you.
You change,
The world around you!

For Greater is He,
that is in me.
Than he
that is in the world.

A Hot Summers Night

A Hot Summer’s Night

Wind’s blowing... sun’s scorching...
The Lord comes... the Lord blesses,
As we long for that cool summer’s night.

He is that oasis, that relief.
He is the rest, the breather.
He is the water and stream;
He is like that cool summer’s night we long for.

When the day is daunting with heat,
When the sun is unbearable,
When your life seem to sap away,
Just remember that only around
The corner is that cool summer night.

The Lord, He waters our empty springs.
The Lord, He renews and baths us
With His refreshing presence.
The Lord, He replenishes our soul with His Word,
The Lord, the Savior of my soul.

"Hugs" | POEMS - Inspirational and Christian

When you're hurting a HUG makes you feel better.

Hugs

There's something in a simple hug
That always warms the heart;
It welcomes us back home
And makes it easier to part.

A hug's a way to share the joy
As sad times we go through,
Or just a way for friends to say
They like you 'cause you're you.

Hugs are meant for anyone
For whom we really care,
From your grandma to your neighbor,
Or a cuddly teddy bear.

A hug is an amazing thing -
It's just the perfect way
To show the love we're feeling
But can't find the words to say.

It's funny how a little hug
Makes everyone feel good;
In every place and language,
It's always understood.

And hugs don't need new equipment,
Special batteries or special parts -
Just open up your arms
And open up your hearts
Do HUGS - NOT Drugs!

How Many Friends

How Many Friends

The old man turned to me and asked
“How many friends have you?”
Why 10 or 20 friends have I,
And named off just a few… He rose quite slow with effort
And sadly shook his head ”
A lucky child you are
To have so many friends,” he said
But think of what you’re saying
There is so much you do not know
A friend is just not someone
To whom you say “Hello”
A friends a tender shoulder
On which to softly cry
A well to pour your troubles down
And raise your spirits high
A friend is a hand to pull you up
From darkness and despair…
When all your other “so called” friends
Have helped to put you there
A true friend is an ally
Who can’t be moved or bought
A voice to keep your name alive
When others have forgot
But most of all a friend is a heart
A strong and sturdy wall
For from the hearts of friends
There comes the greatest love of all!!!
So think of what I’ve spoken
For every word is true
And answer once again my child
How many friends have you???
And then he stood and faced me
Awaiting my reply
Softly I answered
“If lucky…… one have “I”
“You!!!”

The Whisper Of A Child

The Whisper Of A Child

A child's love is  like a whisper,

given in little ways we do not hear.

But if you listen  closely

it will be very clear.

They often do not say it loud,

but  in how they come to you...

"Daddy, will you play with me?"

"Mommy, tie my  shoe?"

The many ways they tell you,

changes as they grow.

"Dad, I  made the team today!"

"Mom, I've Got to go!"

"Pop, I need some  money,

You see there's this girl at school..."

"Mama, I met a boy  today

and Wow, he is so cool!"

"Dad, I've got something to tell  you...

I think she is the one!"

"Mom, he asked me to marry him.

Would  you love him as your son?"

"Dad, I've got some news for you...

It's  going to be a boy!"

"Mom, I'm kind of scared of this,

yet I'm filled with  joy!"

A child's love is like a whisper,

given in little ways we do not  hear.

But if you listen closely,

it will be very clear.

They often  do not say it loud,

but in how they come to you...

"Grandpa, will you play  with me?"

"Grandma, tie my shoe?"

It is never ending;

A blessing  from above.

Listen to the whispers of a child's love.

Blessed Storms - Belinda van Rensburg

Blessed Storms
During stormy weather
Clouds seem to lose their glow;
Gathering together
They darken Earth below.

The leaden sky explodes;
Rain pelts the ground with force
Threatening to erode
The soil without remorse.

Clouds rumble, roil and moan;
Lights split the sky in two;
Earth's creatures hide and groan
Birds bid the air adieu.

Though dark clouds hide the sun;
Though they are glum and gray -
Without them we're undone
For they send life our way.

They're smiled on by the Son
He formed; sent each of them;
A blessing every one;
A mystery to men.

Bringing much needed rain
Enabling life to grow;
Though storms can cause much pain
We need their blessed flow.

When storm clouds gather close
And life seems dark and bleak;
When foes attack; oppose
Leaving us battered; weak

Remember that each cloud's
A blessing in disguise -
Sent by God; allowed
To strengthen; make us wise.

Evergreen Hope 6-21-12

Evergreen Hope 6-21-12: Evergreen Hope 6-21-12:

Spectacular wonder, the view way out yonder,
from high on this mountain slope.
God's vast great creation brings glad adoration
to Jesus who offers us hope.

From just one small seed, a potential indeed,
once crushed, by mistake, underfoot.
I whispered a prayer and stepped over where
another small sapling took root.

And on that rock shelf I thought to myself,
"Oh, how can that seedling be grown,
up here where it toils in dry sandy soils,
in midst of more turmoils not known?"

Then over the years through blizzards and fears
rose doubts that had made me take pause,
"It sure hadn't thrived but had it survived?
Had it overcome nature's laws?"

Now several years later I found something greater
when I returned back to that tree.
I had to admire, it soared so much higher,
and grew so much taller than me.

It once had been crushed, but now I am hushed,
and humbled at what God had done.
One tiny example of something we trample
brings life from the tomb of His Son!

A long time ago under hail and snow,
despite its long discord and strife,
its tap root enlocked way down deep in a rock
that faithfully brought it to life!

Oh, why can't I be like that evergreen tree,
that grew up so high in the sky?
The greenest of green that I've ever seen,
oh tell me Lord, why cannot I?

Spectacular wonder, the view way out yonder,
from high on this mountain slope.
God's vast great creation brings glad adoration
to Jesus who offers me hope.
