Autumn's Glory ~ Joan Adams Burchell

Autumn’s Glory

Leaves, spiraling softly down -
coloring the ground;
Crimson, claret, amber, orange -
browns spread around.

Colors blending from God’s own pallette
bring us Autumn’s Glory;
The brisk, cool breeze - mittens donned -
all tell Autumn’s story.

Children laughing with utmost glee
as they jump in a leafy pile;
Carefree Autumn, with squirrels scooting -
gathering nuts with style.

Smoke ascending from chimney tops
and reaching to the skies;
Mothers busy with pumpkins and apples -
baking favorite pies.

The season is joyful with all it holds -
everything bright with hope;
Holidays near, that time of year
when Peace our hearts promote.

Colors no other season can boast -
Autumn is God’s own way
To bring together family and friends;
Autumn’s Glory is God’s “Hurray!”

 Acts 14:17
 Nevertheless he left not himself without witness,
in that he did good, and gave us rain from heaven,
and fruitful seasons, filling our
 hearts with food and gladness.

Jesus Is All The World To Me ~ Sarah Berthelson

Jesus Is All The World To Me

Why am I feeling so joyful this day
I think I started it as I pray
For the ones that I love and those I do not know
Sometime I feel that my love does not show
Jesus is the world to me

Jesus reached down and touched my heart at a very young age
I knew He was there and seeking me to come to Him
He let me know that He went to the cross for me
Jesus is the world to me

How do we show Him how much we love Him
Not by staying home from church or not seeking His face
So often we never speak to Him at all in a day
He misses us and wants us to pray
Jesus is the world to me

Because he is the Lord of my Life
I thank Him this day for being by my side
He answers my prayers and He speak to me
Jesus is the world to me.

I Thank God For You ~ Sarah Berthelson

I Thank God For You

You are such a blessing to me today
The way you smile and talk to me
I am lonely there is no one here
I thank God for you

You came by just to say hello
To see if you could do anything for me
Go to the grocery or fix me some food
Mop the floor or dust the furniture
I thank God for you

Not many folks care about people like me
You were born with a gift that others can see
Loving and care for me this day
Soon as you leave I kneel and pray
For this dear one that made my day
I thank God for you

Be With Me ~ Marian Jones - Restored August 13th, 2014

Be With Me

Be with me, God, when I'm happy
And all of my skies are blue;
Don't let me take life for granted
But for ever be thankful to You.

Be with me, God, when I'm sad
And my heart is filled with pain;
Help me to always remember
I'll walk in the sunshine again.

Be with me, God, when I wander
Away from the path I should tread;
Gently guide me home once more,
Only You know what lies ahead.

Be with me, God, for all of the years
Safe in your loving care.
I'll not let my faith ever waver
For I know You will always be there.

Remember I Love You ~ By: Joan Clifton Costner

Remember I Love You

 1John 4:9

In this was manifested the love of God toward us,
because that God sent his only begotten Son
 into the world, that we might live through him.

The Night ~ By: Joan Clifton Costner,

~ The Night ~

Into the night I walk; no moon or starlight,
No lower lights or lighthouse on a hill,
No beams directing through this deep dark valley,
No visuals to say, "My heart, be still ..."
The road I've never tread before, is mine - at such a time!
I can illume a scanty dozen feet;
I cannot tell, along the way I travel
If friend or enemy it is I meet.
But, there is warmth within my hand.
My Savior, Holds fast, His fingers twined within my own.
So, even if on broken path I stumble,
I know He'll never ever let me go alone!
I walk with Him, Who knows my failures,
And, even though I cannot see His face,
I'd rather have His hand in mine, in darkness,
Than go alone in some fair brighter place.
I trust Him in the deepest darkest valley
And, if the sun shines on us, brighter day.
I'll trust Him then ~ it will not be a problem
Since we, in darkness, tread a safe sure way!

The Last Sunset ~ By:Joan Clifton Costner

The Last Sunset

When the last sunset fades into darkness,
And this troubled world sinks into sleep;

When the last soul is saved and the Master,

Says, "Father, that's all we can reach."

'Twill be like on the cross - "It is finished!"
And all the rejoicing is done

That is given by angels in Heaven

For the salvation of anyone.

No more souls to be saved - it is finished.
No more pleading and no more debate -

So the peace always asked for is silenced

By men who are full of hate.

But the trusting souls gone on to glory
Will live one eternal day,

In the presence and love of the Savior

Prince of Peace who led all the way.

When the last Sunset comes in the evening
Then the morning will break bright and fair.

Jesus our friend and our brother,

Will greet us with His tender care.

When the morning breaks forth and the splendor
Of Heaven is there in full view;

I'll be watching dear brother and sister,

With Jesus...we'll watch for you!

My Treasure Box ~ By: Euris Bryant

My Treasure Box

As I look upon the world today,
I see many things great and small.

Yet all are valued in a different way,

And I know I cannot have them all.

But from these things I must choose,

The things that matter most to me,

And keep them always never to lose,

That is why I must select them carefully.

I stand as with a treasure box to fill,

And in it I am going to place,

That which I choose with my own free will,

Because my own life I must face.

I see great wealth, houses, and lands,

Is this what I want may I ask?

These things fade with man's plans,

I must choose that which will last.

Into my box says my will,

Place my heart so valuable to me.

The other space I will fill,

With faith, hope and charity.

In a blanket of truth my box will always be,

And upon it I am going to write:

"These are the things that matter most to me.

Whether in the day or in the night."

I hold my treasure box very carefully,

And say to Almighty God so true,

Take this box and what's left of me,

Dear God, I give it all to you.

Reaping The Harvest ~ By: Cinda Marlene Carter

Treasure box Focus ~ Who Will Go

Reaping The Harvest

  By: Cinda Marlene Carter
© 2011

The harvest truly is plentiful…
Many seek to fill their empty souls.
Empty inside,
Is there someone to answer their cry.
A cry for help…
To be delivered from sin and self.
Is there more to life?
Than meets the eye.
What is the answer, does anyone know?
Dear Jesus, lead the the way and show.
Show us the way we should go,
No longer to be tossed about to and fro.
We as the church…
Lord, give us a heart to search.
Searching to redeem the time,
Salted with the seasoning of Jesus Christ.
Let our light so shine…
In a world that Satan blinds.
The Sower plants the seeds of life,
They are watered by our Lord Jesus Christ.
Go tell it on the mountain…
That their is a fountain.
Where we will thirst no more,
Clear waters that gently flow.
From the living waters of the Holy Spirit…
We will thirst no more because of Jesus who was pierced.
Pierced in His side, for all mankind.
Jesus who freely layed down His life.
He saw what it would be like with a life without Him…
Doomed to a life to die in our sins.
When mankind sinned he lost his first state and fell,
We were doomed for an eternal life in hell.
Dear Lord, let us remain faithful to Your calling…
By planting seeds of Your Word in hearts who are wondering.
Wondering if there is anything more to this life at best.
While we plant His seeds, Jesus will be Reaping the Harvest
.

THE HARVEST FIELDS
By: Dan S Baily

The winds blew softly as I traveled on,
Down a path near the bubbling brook.
Across the meadow to a field I’d known,
Where in stillness, I began to look.

I saw a field white unto harvest there,
But the reapers were no where in sight.
I saw ripe golden grain, but no one would dare,
To work in the fields that were white.

And while looking, I thought of the fields so near,
Of souls that are perishing — Is there no one who cares?
And wondering now with eyes filled with tears,
Why no one would dare this burden to bear.

And sitting there it seemed I heard,
The voice of the Savior’s gentle plea,
‘Who will go and work in My fields’
and my heart was greatly stirred,
And with trembling voice I then replied,
"Here am I, please send me."
